VIDEO VISITATION

The La Porte County Jail offers Video Visitation. An easy and convenient way to visit with your loved ones. On-Site and At-Home visits are available.

Inmates will get one free on-site visit per week. Visits last for 20 minutes. To schedule on-site or at home visits, go to Securus Technologies or schedule a visit at one of eight on-site kiosks at the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office.

General Rules:
Participation in visitation is a privilege, not a right. Both visitor and inmate are expected to always conduct themselves in an appropriate fashion during a visit.

La Porte County Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to cancel a visit prior to or during a session based upon visitor or resident inmate misconduct.

La Porte County Sheriff’s Office also reserves the right to restrict visitor from participating in all future visits.

All visits are recorded and subject to electronic monitoring by La Porte County Sheriff’s Office personnel. Your participation in visitation constitutes consent to this recording and monitoring.

Tight fitting or provocative clothing is prohibited.

All visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance by the jail administrative authority assigned to maintain inmate visitation. Special visitation may be approved for emergency situations by the jail administration or the shift OIC. These situations must meet strict guidelines that will require either an imminent threat of or a death in the family. Death notifications may require that the family wait for a county crisis responder to be available if the death or imminent death is direct family. All other visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

At the time of scheduling, the family member must be prepared to provide the following information:

1. Inmate legal name or Jail ID

3. Visitor home address

4. Visitor telephone number

5. Visitor email address
